Get 500 miles of carbon neutral driving. On us! We’re the first UK insurer to team up with ClimatePartner on a brand new carbon offsetting programme. And to get things moving, we’re offsetting 500 miles of emissions for every policy we sell.

The first 500 miles are on us

For every policy bought in 2021 and beyond, we cover the carbon offsetting costs for the first 500 miles. You don't have to do a thing.

Our journey to carbon neutrality so far...

We calculated the average CO2 emissions per mile using data compiled within the Thatcham database. Thatcham consolidates primary car data which includes emissions per KM from the car manufacturer.
as of april 2021, We've cancelled out the effects of

12,520,000

miles of driving
by offsettiing

2,754,400

How it works

We’re supporting three projects that work to reduce carbon emissions by protecting biodiversity, reducing pollution and promoting clean energy production.

Forest Protection

Madre de Dios, Peru

Wind energy

Tuppadahalli, India

Clean Cookstoves

Gatare, Rwanda

Forest protection in Peru

A newly-planted tree can take up to 20 years before it absorbs enough CO2 to effectively offset emissions. That’s why we’ve decided to support a project that safeguards existing forests, like this one in the Madre de Dios region of Peru. By protecting this area against threats of deforestation, we are preserving one of the world’s largest carbon reservoirs and ensuring the Amazon can go on about its business of producing 20% of the world’s oxygen supply.

Wind energy in India

It’s nuts that we can actually get electricity from thin air. So why aren’t we doing it more?! We decided to back a project in the Indian state of Karnataka, which supports local wind farms that produce emission-free energy to the Indian grid. We calculate the level of emissions saved by working out how much CO2 would be released if the same amount of energy was generated using standard production methods.

Clean cookstoves in Rwanda

Traditional cooking methods in this region of Rwanda take up a lot of fuel, and emit a lot of smoke. This project supports a local cooperative that builds and distributes clean cookstoves, protecting the unique ecosystem of the Nyungwe Forest National Park from air pollution. And it’s not just about good carbon offsetting. It’s also about improving the health and living conditions of the area’s low-income families, who can buy the cookstoves at affordable prices.
