More information about Motor Legal Protection
- How can I add the legal add-on to my policy?
When you get a quote with Marshmallow, you'll be presented with a screen asking if you'd like to add legal cover to your policy. Simply click the green Add Motor Legal Protection button.
If you already have a policy with us, we won't be able to add Motor Legal Protection on for you.
- How much does it cost
If you decided to pay for your policy with one annual payment, your legal add-on will cost £2.50 per month, or £30 for the whole year.
If you chose the monthly payment option, then your legal add-on will be a bit more expensive due to the APR. It'll cost £2.60 per month, or £33.09 in total.
- Who's the legal cover provider?
Your legal expenses cover is provided by our partner Lawshield UK Ltd. You can contact them on 0333 043 3790.
- What's covered?
If you're involved in a motor incident for which you're not at fault, you'll be able to claim on the other driver's insurance for the loss or repair of belongings damaged in the incident up to £100,000.
Your legal add-on will also allow you to claim for the legal expenses incurred. In a dispute, your prospects of success must be greater than 50%.
MLP includes Motor Prosecution Defence, so you'll be compensated for up to £10,000 for legal expenses in relation to a motoring offence.
