When you call, here’s what you’ll need.
The more information you have, the better!
First, we’ll ask you to verify some personal details, like…
  • Your name.
  • Your policy number (you’ll find this on the app).
  • Your date of birth.
Then, we’ll ask about the accident.
  • What happened?
Think about what was happening just before, what you did, and what other people did.
  • When and where did it happen?
Location is key! But also think about the road. Were you on a junction, or coming up to traffic lights?
  • What was the weather like?
Think about the driving conditions. Like how clear it was, or how wet the road was
Note things like this down as soon as you can. It’s amazing how quickly we forget things.
We’ll want to know about the damage.
  • What’s the damage?
We’ll ask you to tell us what was damaged. Is it your car? Someone’s fence? Is anyone injured?
  • Is your car safe to drive?
If you’re not able to drive it away from the scene, we’ll pick it up for you and take it to a safe place
  • Where is your car now?
At home? Still on the road? If it was blocking traffic, the police may have taken it to a safe place.
Take lots of photos of the damage, and the scene of the accident. We’ll ask for them later.
And we’ll ask if anyone else was involved.
  • What's their full name and phone number?
We’ll make sure they’re ok, and we’ll handle any repair or compensation arrangements on your behalf.
  • What's their car’s registration plate?
This gives us all the information we need about the vehicle. Without it, a claim can take a lot longer to settle.
  • Who are they insured by?
We’ll need to know who the other driver is insured by. This will make the process quicker and easier!
Always collect the details of any other drivers involved, and the phone number of any witnesses.

What to do if you have an accident

1

Make sure you’re safe

After an accident has happened, make sure you and anyone else involved are safe.

2

Have information ready

Once you can see everyone is safe, you’ll need to collect the contact information of the people involved & detail information about the accident.

3

Tell us what happened

Call us and let us know the details of what happened. We’ll get to working on it immediately.

Here's an example claim

Car crash

You accidentally go into the back of a car on your way to the shops. Luckily no one is hurt.

Taking picture of car on mobile

You collect the information of the person you crashed into as well as take pictures of the scene. You give our claims line a call.

Car being fixed

Fortunately, you have Comprehensive insurance so we’ll cover the damage to the other car and any injuries people may have sustained.

Toolbox

We also cover any damage to your vehicle. We’ll put it into one of our partner repair shops as quickly as possible.

Rental car

When this is happening, you get a rental car and we keep you updated on how your repair is coming along.

Car

Once your vehicle is repaired you’ll be back on the road!
