5 things you need to ask the other driver in an accident

Talking to the other driver after an accident is often the last thing you want to do. Especially if you’re new to the UK and unsure of how all this stuff works.

The good news is, you don’t have to chat for long! There are just 5 bits of information for you to collect, no matter whose fault it was. Once you’ve got those, call us and we’ll take it from there.

Find out:

1. What is their full name?

This one’s pretty easy.

2. What is their phone number?

Don’t worry, this is just for us. You don’t need to call them at all.

3. What is their number plate?

Number plate, registration plate, licence plate… whatever you call the plate at the front and back of the car.

4. What is the name of their car insurance company?

Again, this is just for us. We can get things sorted much quicker if we know who they’re insured by.

5. Are they the person who owns the car?

The person who owns it is usually in charge of all the legal stuff, like paying for tax and insurance.

If they’re not the owner of the car they’re driving, ask them who is and get that person’s phone number too.

Or, just swap your details with Bump!

To make things even easier, you can use the Bump! Card. Go to the Marshmallow app today and add Bump! to your wallet. Or find out more here.
