We built Marshmallow to make migration easy

Every year, tens of millions of people move to a new country, ready to start a new life. But when they arrive, they face a maze of complex systems and struggle to access essential financial services like insurance and credit.

We’re on a mission to change that. We’ve built our own technology platform from the ground up, and have used it to insure millions of drivers and lend millions in car loans. But we’re not standing still. 

Our ambitions are huge. Our goal is to become one of the largest insurers in the country whilst evolving our platform with even more products, solving more problems for our customers as they build new lives abroad.

To tackle challenges of this scale and complexity, we need incredibly ambitious people who never settle for ‘good enough’. People who join us are hungry for autonomy and ownership, and would rather improve than coast. Working here is complex and ever evolving, with new problems to solve, decisions to make, and systems to improve.

London Office

Location

We’re walking distance from Old Street, Liverpool Street and Moorgate. There are shops and plenty of places to grab coffee or lunch nearby.

Built for focus and collaboration

Our office is designed for how we work: focused workspaces, collaborative areas and room for company-wide meetings.

Facilities

A modern building equipped with a roof terrace, bike storage, changing rooms, showers and a cafe.

Weekly lunch

A street food vendor cooks and serves lunch in the office each week - a deliberate moment to step away from desks and connect across teams. The kitchen is stocked with tea, coffee and snacks, with drinks for after-work socials.

International teams

Alongside our London office, we have a second home in Budapest. Most of our teams span both locations.

So far we’ve helped over one million drivers get a fairer price on their car insurance, most of them UK newcomers. Now we’re creating tech-first financial products for anyone who moves to a new country. People whose problems we are uniquely positioned to solve.

Charity partnerships

How we give back

We proudly partner with two charities that support migrants and refugees in the UK and Hungary. Everyone at Marshmallow can take two volunteering days a year to lend a hand with employability workshops, mentoring and more.

Breaking Barriers
Breaking Barriers is a leading specialist refugee employment charity in the UK, driving the Business Behind Refugees movement and supporting refugees to find meaningful employment. This initiative empowers refugees and asylum seekers by helping them leverage their skills and talents to achieve financial independence and build new lives.
Menedék
Menedék is a charity who supports the social integration of domestic and foreign citizens migrating to and from Hungary. They do this through a variety of social, educational and cultural programs, including counselling, language lessons, training and workshops.
