Quick answer: Some credit and banking apps send missed payment notifications that do not match what TransUnion has on record. In most cases, the payment has been made and is showing correctly. The issue is with the app, not with what we have reported.
My app says I have missed a payment but I have not
We are aware that some credit and banking apps have been sending missed payment notifications that do not match what is actually recorded with TransUnion. In many cases, the payment has been made and is showing correctly in TransUnion's records. The issue is with the notification from the app, not with what we have reported.
To check this, you can:
- Request your free TransUnion Statutory Credit Report: If the marked payments are showing as green, there is no issue with what we have reported.
- Check the payment history in your app: Most credit and banking apps have a payment history page that shows whether each payment was made or missed. If the history shows your payments as up to date, the notification was incorrect.
If both show your payments as green, the notification from your app was sent in error and there is nothing wrong on our side.
How do I get the incorrect notification corrected?
You can raise a dispute directly through your third-party credit or banking app. Most apps have an option labelled something like "Something not right?" or "Raise a dispute". This will flag the issue with TransUnion so they can investigate and correct it.
This is the quickest way to get an incorrect notification resolved.
What if my TransUnion report or payment history is showing a missed payment?
If your TransUnion Statutory Credit Report or your app's payment history is showing a missed payment and you do not believe you have missed one, please let us know. Share the details of what you are seeing and we will investigate this for you.
